Elliot Software
Chrome Extensions

Privacy

Effective date: February 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Elliot Software (“Elliot Software,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with our software products, including Chrome extensions, WordPress plugins, and related web tools/apps (collectively, “Products”). Elliot Software operates under Hamelton Brands, LLC.

1) Our approach to privacy

We design our Products to be practical, lightweight, and privacy-conscious. Many features operate locally on your device and do not require sending your browsing or personal information to our servers.

2) Information we collect

The information we collect depends on how you use our Products. In general, we collect the minimum needed to provide support and maintain basic functionality.

2.1 Support communications (if you contact us)

If you email support or submit a support request, you may provide information such as your name, email address, and message contents. You may also voluntarily include screenshots, URLs, logs, or other diagnostic details.

2.2 Product settings and preferences

Some Products store user preferences (for example: theme, display mode, or similar settings). When stored, these settings are typically kept locally (such as browser storage for an extension, or in your WordPress database for a plugin).

2.3 Technical and diagnostic information (limited)

We may ask you to share technical information (such as browser version, operating system, or error messages) to troubleshoot an issue. This information is only provided if you choose to send it to us.

3) Information we do not collect (by default)

Unless a specific Product explicitly states otherwise, our Products are not designed to collect or transmit:

4) How our Products process data

4.1 Local/on-device processing (common for inspector tools)

Some Products (including transparency/inspection utilities) may analyze technical information that is already available to your browser or site environment—such as visible page resources, request hostnames/domains, scripts, and related indicators. When available, these analyses are performed locally on your device and are typically initiated by an explicit user action (for example, clicking the extension button).

Any “cookie,” “tracker,” “domain,” or “third-party request” information displayed by an inspector tool is intended to describe what the website itself is doing. The tool is designed to observe and summarize, not to interfere or inject hidden tracking.

4.2 WordPress plugins

WordPress plugins may store configuration settings and user-submitted content inside your WordPress installation. This data is hosted where you host your WordPress site. If a plugin offers email notifications, those emails are sent to addresses configured by the site owner.

4.3 Web tools/apps

If we provide a web-based tool, it may process the information you enter into it. Unless clearly stated in that tool, we do not use submitted content for advertising.

5) Cookies and tracking technologies

Elliot Software does not add advertising trackers to our Products. If a website you visit uses cookies or tracking technologies, those are set by the website (or its third-party services), not by Elliot Software. Our Products may display cookie-related information as part of transparency reporting, but do not control or expand a site’s cookie behavior.

6) Chrome extension permissions (plain-language explanation)

Chrome extensions may request permissions to function. The exact permissions depend on the extension. Examples include:

We do not use permissions to sell data, build advertising profiles, or collect sensitive personal information.

7) Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information only in limited situations, such as:

8) Data retention

Support communications are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain records, and improve reliability. Local preferences stored on your device or WordPress site remain until you remove them, uninstall the plugin/extension, clear your site data, or delete your WordPress settings (depending on the Product).

9) Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information provided to us. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to avoid unnecessary collection and to minimize exposure.

10) Children’s privacy

Our Products are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

11) International users

If you access our Products from outside the United States, you understand that information you provide to us (such as support emails) may be processed in the United States or other locations where we operate.

12) Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the effective date above when changes are made.
